DOUBLE CONE BLENDER
SEW double cone blender has been design with the three main blending variables: A Bowl geometry B Equipment ?lling or loading level C Blending speed Powders with “Free ?ow” features can be blended for a certain number of revolutions (time, RPM) regardless of the chosen speed while the blending of the “Cohesive” type must be blended at high speeds in order to improve the shear cut and blend of the components
How It Works
SEW double cone blender has been design with the three main blending variables:
A Bowl geometry
B Equipment ?lling or loading level
C Blending speed
Powders with “Free ?ow” features can be blended for a certain number of revolutions (time, RPM) regardless of the chosen speed while the blending of the “Cohesive” type must be blended at high speeds in order to improve the shear cut and blend of the components
Double Cone Blender forHomogenous Mixing
A Double Cone Blender provides gentle, low energy tumbling action making it ideal for blending delicate and fragile products, as well as for mixing very heavy and abrasive products. This type of blender is used to produce a homogeneous mixture and is a better alternative for materials that need to be carefully tumbled, rather than stirred.
Blending Through Unique Design
The mixing action of this SEW Blender is enhanced by its unique Multishear Defector / Disperser Plates, which are positioned along the axis of rotation, within the blending chamber. They deflect blended contents, resulting in a homogeneous blend, regardless of the particle size distribution, shape or density.
The design of the Multishear Defector / Disperser Plates also significantly reduce blending time and ensures there are no dead-pockets of unmixed product; thereby improving efficiency and minimising energy consumption.
For successful blending, the material should be free-flowing and discharged readily from the upright static blending chamber.
While Mixers have a moving stirrer or agitator, with a static mixing chamber, blenders are vessels which rotate or tumble in a manner that thoroughly mixes the ingredients inside. This is what makes them the perfect solution for fragile material
Hygiene
Our SEW Blender has been designed for hygienic processing and ease of cleaning, along with improved blending efficiency of free-flowing powders and granules
INDUSTRY
Unique double coneblender can be configured to suit applications in the chemical, mineral, metal, food, pharmaceutical and nuclear industries. It can be designed to provide effective heating, cooling, drying, mixing and moistening in one complete process and can be adapted for use in hazardous areas
APPLICATION
SEW Double cone blenders are best utilized where the benefits of its gentle tumble blending action can be realised. Which includesTea Blending, Coffee Bean Blending, Pharma Powders, and Homogeneous small batch, Metal Powder, Glass or Ceramics
Gentle tumbling, for free-flowing powders & granules, in addition to delicate products, or to mix heavy abrasives
Materials
Examples of materials mixed in this way include semolina flour, seeds, starch, coffee beans and ground coffee, cocoa, chocolate flakes or powder, powdered milk, baby food, preparations to make dehydrated soups and creams, pharmaceutical granules, detergent granules, soap flakes, artificial fertilizers, plastic in powder ground or pellet form.

Cleanability
When it comes to cleaning mixing equipment, we ask ourselves what the best way is of combining our smart designs with your quality manufacturing processes. Minimising downtime is the ultimate goal, but it would be naïve to think we could avoid time-consuming cleaning processes for mixing operations all together.
The determining factor when choosing a particular type of cleaning is your application. There are many aspects to consider, and plenty of philosophies about cleaning, but one of the most difficult questions to answer is when something is truly clean, and how to control the results.
To this end, we offer three categories of cleaning: • Wet cleaning • Dry cleaning • Sterilisation
We offer a range of fixed or removable cleaning systems for automatic (wet) cleaning using gas and liquid cleaners. These include customised CIP and drying skids. We also have large access doors, platforms and manual spray lances for (wet) cleaning your systems manually, ensuring good and safe accessibility to the areas that need to be cleaned.
This is an integral part of the design phase and our specialists are here to help you incorporate this into your mixer design right from the start. Our expert advice on Cleanability in combination with sustainability will help you save costs, protect the environment and achieve the best possible results.
