Planetary mixer is a new high efficiency and no dead-dead mixing equipment, it has a unique, novel mixing form, the kettle has two or 3 of multi-layer pulp-leaf mixer and 1~2 an automatic scraper, agitator in the body axis around the vessel revolution, and at different speeds around its own axis high-speed rotation, so that the material in the kettle for complex movement, The efficiency of a strong shearing and rubbing is usually several times that of an ordinary mixer.

 

Currently common planetary mixers usually have two low speed planetary agitator (usually multiple oblique blades, twist, frame), one or two high speed planetary agitator (dispersing plate) and scraping paddles.

 

TYPES OF PLANETARY MIXER

 

Single Blade Planetary Mixer

 

The single blade planetary mixer includes a bowl with a blade that revolves in a planetary motion such that it visits all parts of the vessel.

 

The single blade mixer is ideal for processing light pastes to heavy viscous products.

Rotation of beater around its own axis, axis of bowl closer to the walls leads to homogeneous product mix.

 

Top mounted beater makes cleaning easy.

 

Based on the requirement a scrapper can be provided for scrapping the walls of the bowl.

Varied Beater Shapes are available to suit product and process applications. Refer the different blade types available.

Combination of high to low beater speeds helps in particle size reduction further adding to the quality of the mix processed.

 

Low beater speeds are selected for processing of heavy, pasty and dough like masses

 

Application

Double Blade Planetary Mixer

 

They are also called as twin shaft mixer in which the shafts rotate around a sun gear. The blades are simple rectangular "gate" blades oriented ninety degrees from each other. The paths of the blades intersect and pass within the tank wall. This high torque, low speed mixers mix viscous ingredients into a homogenous product.

 

• The standard wane-shaped mixing tools are designed to overlap, and so create strong axial and radial motions in the mix-product, as well as a highly intensive shearing and dispersing effect
• Within a short time, the material is thoroughly mixed and even very difficult formulas may be obtained
• A quick vessel locking device connects the mixing vessel to the mixer. Because the vessel is mounted on fixed and swivel wheels, it is very easy to transport
• The standard version features dual mixing tools shafts running in heavy duty ball bearings
• The upper head of the machine is lifted by manual, mechanical or hydraulic elevating systems, depending on the size of the machine

 

Electrical, TEFC one speed motors are the standard drive units supplied with MIXER

 

Design Features

 

SEW design it’s Double Planetary Mixers according to the special requirements and applications of the customer.

• For mixed products that must be heated or cooled, SEW has designed jacketed vessels for hot oil, electrical heating, steam heating and liquid cooling.
• SEW has designed moveable and tiltable mixing vessels, with or without a bottom discharge valve for less viscous liquids
• Where necessary, alterations can be made in the shape of the mixing tools, a third mixing tool may be added, a homogenizer unit (with deflector)can be supplied - and other performance proven mixing elements may be supplied for special duties.

 

A SEW DISSOLVER UNIT for fine dispersion, with its own drive unit, available with or without variable speed, has proven itself a good process accelerator for dealing with special dispersions

Application

 

Double Planetary Mixers are used to mix medium to high viscosity non-flowing products. Double Planetary Mixers are used to make products such as rubber cements, silicones, and battery pastes

The general blade type provided in our mixer is the rectangular gate blade.
 

In some cases, wane shaped impeller provided, in hydro-mix model both wane shaped impeller along with high shear dissolver impeller provided. The recent addition to the blade type is helical blade. Unlike conventional blades, the helical blade has a variable pitch. Starting at the top of the helix, the pitch decreases as it extends deeper into the batch. The blade moves material both vertically and orbitally, thus improving mixing and cycle time in the motion generated by its rotation
